Frequently asked questions about Vision Rescue

Vision Rescue exists to rescue children from all forms of exploitation by engaging and sustaining them in education.

Vision Rescue works in education for children from low-income, vulnerable communities. In order to sustain these children in education, Vision Rescue provides them, their families and communities with allied services such as nutrition, healthcare, skills training, counselling services etc.

Vision Rescue believes that education is the only tool that can sustainably break a child out of the intergenerational cycle of poverty and exploitation. Through the decades of Vision Rescue’s work with children in the slum communities in Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata, we have learnt that lack of education has deprived children from vital information requisite for their survival and growth. Illiteracy is the key barrier that prevents a person from accessing his/her lawful rights. When we empower children with education, they are freed to access information, make wise and informed choices for themselves and their future. Education also rescues children from the mindset of poverty that they are surrounded by and empowers them to dream beyond their barriers, find their purpose, enjoy their rights and live with dignity.
