Zeeshan* stands tall in his new school uniform with a bright smile. His books are packed neatly in his school bag, and he proudly holds his mother’s hand as they walk to BLC. Today, he is a confident young boy with dreams of becoming a soldier. But it wasn’t always this way.
Until a year ago, Zeeshan’s life was starkly different. He lived in a small, rented ‘kacha’ house made of tin with his parents and four siblings. Even for this makeshift home, they often struggled to pay the rent regularly. His father worked tirelessly as a daily wage labourer, yet his income was never enough to support their large family. Each day was a struggle for survival and education was a distant dream for Zeeshan.
Then, in June 2023, everything began to change. Zeeshan was enrolled in BLC. At the same time, his mother took a bold step by enrolling in and successfully completing three vocational courses: beautician, mehendi, and tailoring. She even began to earn a small income, allowing them to pay the rent on time. We are grateful to you, dear donors, for your generosity has made dreams come true for Zeeshan and his mother.
