Asha*, a loving mother, works hard to care for her four kids while her husband works as a daily wage labourer. In their small rented home, basic amenities were scarce. Water was only available at night, and leaks allowed rainwater to seep. They had to use public toilet facilities, as their home didn’t have a toilet, paying Rs. 5 each. With two children already enrolled in formal school, they were concerned about sending the younger two, Shruti* and her brother, to school. But just when hope seemed lost, Vision Rescue emerged as a beacon of light.

In 2022, Shruti joined our BLC, and a year later, in 2023, her brother also joined BLC. Shruti is enthusiastic about learning and actively participates in class. Her teachers were impressed by her positive attitude and quick learning ability. Regular health check-ups, dental care, and nutritious meals became a lifeline to the family. Meanwhile, Asha joined our vocational tailoring course to ease their financial strain. She even attends the FGMs regularly. She says, “Those sessions about hygiene taught me a lot. Now, we try to keep our home tidy and healthy.”

Thank you, Vision Rescue donors. We couldn’t have done this without you!
