Yaafis* was identified as a Moderately Acute Malnourished (MAM) child. His frail body told the story of his family’s daily challenges. His mother shares her burden: “I work hard every day, but it’s never enough.” She feels sad for her daughter, who had to drop out of school to care for her younger siblings. “But what can I do? If my husband and I don’t work, feeding all seven children will be even harder. I’m just thankful we heard about Vision Rescue,” she adds. “At least two of my children are now enrolled in BLC.”
The family, who recently migrated from Uttar Pradesh to Mumbai, faced many hardships. But Vision Rescue’s intervention brought hope. In 2022, Yaafis was enrolled in BLC. His mother admits, “We didn’t even know about Yaafis’s health condition until Vision Rescue’s medical team recognized and helped us address it.” Yaafis is starting to show signs of improvement through regular health check-ups and access to nutritious meals at BLC.
Yaafis’s teacher shares, “When he started at BLC, he was very quiet and didn’t engage much in class. But once he received his school kit, he became more involved and started enjoying his time at school.” Thank you, dear donors, for your love, care and support in reaching out to Yaafis and his family!
