In 2022, Inaya* was enrolled in our BLC program. Her home is located near Mumbai’s largest garbage dump, which receives 9000 metric tonnes of trash daily. Despite this, Inaya’s mother keeps their home spotless. Her father, an electrician, struggles to make ends meet as most of his earnings go towards rent, bills, and daily expenses.
Thanks to your generous support, dear donors, Inaya is excelling in both academics and sports. She is in Junior KG and aspires to become an army officer. Her progress encouraged her mother to join our Focus Group Meetings (FGMs). She even completed our paper bag-making and fashion jewellery courses at the community centre and began taking on income-generating orders.
Today, Inaya’s mother is a ‘Community Champion’ in her locality, telling other women about the power of education for them and their children. She is excited to witness other lives transformed, just as you have transformed hers!
