Imagine a world where skills ignite empowerment, creativity fuels innovation, and women uplift themselves and the whole community. This defines Vision Rescue’s Skill Development and Livelihood Training program—an odyssey that transforms lives, empowering mothers and older sisters of children at the Beacon Learning Center (BLC).

SHG Women Shining in the Corporate Spotlight!

Stepping onto a stage of honour, our Self-Help Group women showcased their creations at the prestigious Larsen & Toubro (L&T) Limited office in the heart of Bandra-Kurla Complex, Mumbai! Imagine corporate clients appreciating their craft and dreams, taking flight on the wings of opportunity. This is more than an event; it’s a chapter of empowerment, and we’re here to soak in every inspiring moment.

Crafting Dreams Stitch by Stitch

Behind every uniform worn by students at the Beacon Learning Centres (BLCs) lies the dedication of tailoring course graduates. These women learned a skill and utilized it to tailor uniforms with love and precision.

Imagine the power of 57 mothers uniting their talents, their hands working harmoniously to sew 2490 uniforms. It’s not just about stitching fabric; it’s about weaving dreams, each thread carrying the aspirations of BLC students.

From Threads to Trendy Scrunchies

The SD&L course took a creative twist with the introduction of scrunchie-making workshops. The 28 students who took part quickly mastered the art, showcasing the potential for continuous learning and diversifying skills. Vision Rescue encourages creativity with special workshops, setting these women on a growth path.

From Palms to Paper

23 enthusiastic students signed up for a two-month Mehendi course in a world where creativity knows no bounds. Their intricate henna designs, once gracing palms, found a new canvas on postcards and greeting cards. The transition might seem unlikely, but the results are stunning. These talented young women are not just creating art; they’re creating avenues for income and self-expression.

The Art of Paper Bags

A group of 31 mothers of the Beacon Learning Center children embraced the art of paper bag crafting with gusto. Their dedication went beyond the classroom, resulting in beautifully crafted bags made even at home. This transformation from novice to artisan is a testament to the impact of nurturing creativity.

The Saree Workshop

Dr. BMN College hosted a saree draping workshop, equipping 28 students with versatile skills. With newfound knowledge, they can confidently drape sarees and offer their expertise as beauticians, enhancing their earning potential and changing the empowerment narrative.

Weaving Dreams with Fabric Jewelry

The Handloom Fabric Jewelry Workshop ignited passion among 30 participants from three slum communities. This session minimized fabric waste and sparked excitement for crafting and creativity. With sustainable accessories in mind, attendees crafted pieces that complemented their outfits.

Beauty & Hair Care Skills: Empowering Lives

The three-month Beauty & Hair Care course brought about a transformation in Kalwa and Shivaji Nagar. Our comprehensive curriculum embraces the art of skincare, the finesse of hair mastery, and a tapestry of techniques—threading, manicure, waxing, facials, hair spa and more. It’s heartwarming to witness 17 skilled students flourishing, three making their mark in salons and 14 embracing entrepreneurship, touching the lives of friends, family, and neighbours.
