At Vision Rescue, we believe that “Mental Health is not a destination but a process…” And Yes, Mental Health Matters!
With this in mind, we started off a Mental Health Awareness Program in one of the slum communities that we work in – Kalwa, Mumbai.
We look forward to equipping and empowering our Community Interns and Education Interns who would further counsel the people in our slum communities.
Counsellors from St. Xaviers College in Mumbai have been conducting one-on-one sessions with our Community and Education interns. These sessions have already covered over 15 interns.
Living in poverty, without easy access to municipal services such as water, sanitation, healthcare, education, and so on, residents within these slum communities suffer from various forms of mental trauma and stress, with no one to turn to for help.
With these sessions, we hope to raise awareness about mental health, treat emotional and psychological issues, and assist them in healing from trauma and moving forward in life.
Thank you The Movement India for bringing in these amazing volunteer counsellors.
Thank you for your ongoing assistance in empowering and uplifting families and sustaining their children in education.
