A test in time saves nine!! Last week our healthcare team organised a screening camp for over 221 students at one of our target slum communities in Mumbai. Heartfelt THANKS to Dr. Rajesh Nare and Dr. Rahul Surve for examining each of these students within their slum community, to ensure they aren’t suffering from any serious ailments!

Conducting such health screenings for our students is Vision Rescue’s way of ensuring that ill health doesn’t come in the way of students succeeding in their education. Through camps like this, we get to detect diseases early, and intervene in time to prevent students from struggling later on.

While the screening camp was ongoing, 134 students also got their blood group tested by Janshatabdi Diagnostic Center. For most students in slum communities, knowing their blood group or even understanding the importance of knowing their blood group is a  rarity.

Our students were provided with the results of their tests, and this will safeguard them in times of emergency.

In the days to come, students who were identified with issues during the screening camp will be referred to our network hospitals for further treatments, and we will be conducting more such blood-group testings for the remaining students at our Beacon Learning Centres across Mumbai.

Thank YOU, dear Vision Rescue community, for your support and contributions that make such timely interventions possible!
