Sakshi* is a five-year-old girl who lives with her mother, brother, and grandparents in a slum community. Her abusive father abandoned them, leaving her mother to raise her and her brother alone. With limited education, her mother struggles to find stable work and relies on the support of her parents, who have little themselves.

Sakshi’s family was introduced to Vision Rescue’s BLC program through a Community Champion, and Sakshi was soon enrolled. When she joined BLC, she was shy, lacked confidence, and struggled with reading and writing. However, with our BLC teachers’ gentle encouragement and support, Sakshi began to blossom, finding joy in learning and even dreaming of pursuing a career in dance.

Vision Rescue also provided essential healthcare, including screenings and treatment for her tonsils and a nutritious meal each day. Sakshi’s mother has completed our vocational bookbinding and tailoring courses, which gives her hope of finding work soon. Thank you, dear donors, for stepping in and lending your helping hand to Sakshi and her family. Your support has given Sakshi a great start on her learning journey.
