“Can life really change for a family like ours?” This was the question Zuhera* often asked herself, day after day. Life was tough – her husband’s income as a driver barely covered their expenses, so she worked as a domestic worker, too. Even then, they constantly relied on her mother for support for a long time. Zuhera’s addiction to tobacco only made things worse, and she felt trapped in the cycle.
Waqas*, their 4-year-old son, was shy and reserved, rarely talking or playing with others. In 2023, he was enrolled in Nursery at BLC. Soon, he started coming home with a sparkle in his eyes, excited to share what he learned at school. He was no longer the quiet boy in the corner; Waqas became curious, eager, and more confident.
Zuhera, who struggled with tobacco addiction, has significantly reduced her consumption with constant motivation from our CCC. She even completed the vocational Mehandi course, giving her a new way to earn extra income. “Thanks to the support we received, we are not where we were,” she says. “Vision Rescue has helped us a lot, and seeing my son, I know we’re on the right path.”
