“I love my school, my teacher, and my friends!” says Ghul, a bright-eyed 4-year-old who is the heartbeat of her family. Living in a slum community near the Deonar dumping ground, struggling with financial instability, has made life even more difficult. The area is located near a filthy gutter, with no access to clean drinking water. Healthcare services are limited, and sanitation and hygiene are neglected.
Ghul’s father works in construction and takes on various labour tasks when available, but their income is irregular, and their tiny home makes it hard to dream big. However, her mother was determined to change Ghul’s life and recalls the day she first learned about Vision Rescue’s Beacon Learning Center (BLC). In June 2023, Ghul was enrolled in BLC. She loves participating in sports activities and even won a silver medal in a race! With access to education, nutrition, and regular health check-ups, she’s more confident, healthier and happier.
Ghul is thriving and dreams of becoming a police officer someday. Today, her mother has joined us as a community champion, advocating for education, nutrition and healthcare in her community. We are grateful to all our generous donors. With your help, Ghul is stepping into a future full of possibilities. Soon, she will be enrolled in a formal school, continuing her journey toward a better future.
