“If Haseena* gets a good education, she won’t have to struggle like us,” expressed her mother.
Haseena, a 7-year-old with curious eyes, lives with her parents and younger brother in a one-room ‘pakka’ house. Her illiterate father works as a daily wage labourer at a scrap shop. For years, Haseena didn’t go to school, but with the help of our Community Champion, she was enrolled in Grade I at the Beacon Learning Center (BLC) in 2022. At BLC, she received essential educational materials, including a lunchbox, school bag, sandals, a uniform, and a raincoat. These provisions excited her about attending school regularly.
Vision Rescue ensures that every child at BLC receives healthy, nutritious meals. Haseena eagerly waits to share her meal with her family. Also, all the children at BLC receive dental and medical check-ups twice yearly to keep them healthy. Community engagement played a major role in molding Haseena’s family. Her mother participates in Focus Group Meetings (FGMs) that empowered her with knowledge and awareness.
Haseena excelled in her studies at BLC and dreams of becoming a teacher. She is 9 years old and is set to enroll in formal school this year. Thank you, dear donors.
