Little Ayesha’s mother Haseena first heard of Vision Rescue when she was desperately looking for work. Her husband Shaidul was struggling with an alcohol and drug addiction, and Haseena was responsible to keep her family alive.
Haseena joined Vision Rescue as housekeeping staff back then. Meanwhile she completed our six-month tailoring course and even chose to become a Community Champion for Vision Rescue.
Haseena’s confidence grew in leaps and bounds with all the communications and mobilisation training that she received as a Community Champion. She began to encourage other women in her neighbourhood to equip themselves with vocational skills and financially support their families.
Haseena even went on to take up another job as a professional babysitter. With her earnings, she put into practice the financial wisdom she’d picked up at Vision Rescue. It’s her savings that have built the hutment the family currently lives in.
Not only did Haseena motivate other mothers in her neighbourhood to educate their children, she admitted little Ayesha into our pre-primary school inside the slum community.
Ayesha loves school, and her favourite subject is Hindi. She can’t wait to grow up, complete her education and become a teacher just like the Vision Rescue teachers who have inspired her!
Back in 2016, Ayesha’s father Shaidul was involved in an inebriated street fight. He was arrested and jailed. The family’s Vision Rescue community worker was instrumental in Shaidul’s release.
Shaidul was so overwhelmed by Vision Rescue’s aid to his family, he requested help to overcome his substance addiction. Our medical team is today working with him and a partner government hospital on a de-addiction program.
Ayesha, Haseena and Shaidul are always thankful to you for how you’ve uplifted their family. You’ve gifted Ayesha education, Haseena employability skills and Shaidul a hope for a substance-free future.

It’s your sacrificial giving that has instilled this much change into this family. May you be blessed for all you’re doing!
