Aarthi*, a 7-year-old from a slum community in Mumbai, faced numerous challenges. Her family struggled with financial problems due to her father’s irregular income and alcohol addiction, which led to frequent arguments and neglect of Aarthi’s education.
In June 2022, Vision Rescue stepped in. Aarthi and her younger sister were enrolled in BLC after their mother reached out for help. Initially, Aarthi was a shy, quiet child who struggled to focus on her studies. However, our BLC teachers supported and encouraged Aarthi. Slowly, Aarthi started participating more actively in class and showing genuine interest in her studies.
Vision Rescue’s support extended beyond education. Our CCC provided guidance and follow-up care for Aarthi’s mother to recover quickly from a TB infection she had a year ago. Also, our CCC helped Aarthi’s father quit his alcohol addiction, enabling him to secure stable employment as a housekeeper.
Thank you, dear donors, for making such a profound impact on Aarthi and her family. Today, Aarthi excels in her studies, loves participating in sports, and enjoys drawing in class. Her dream is to become a doctor to serve others.
